October 24, 2017, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm @ Asbury Place behind Cokesbury United Methodist Church, 5725 N. 9th Ave., across the street from Pensacola State College.
Carpenter’s Creek is getting a new bridge on 9th Ave., next to Publix. This is a very important Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) project. Public officials and FDOT need to hear from the public and the neighborhoods that are impacted by flooding and other problems on the creek.
Sherri will have a charrette type Town Hall to take comments from the public to make sure the new bridge is not only the right bridge for the creek and environment, but that it is architecturally and esthetically designed with lighting, traffic calming, pedestrian safety and other amenities.
Beetle Mania: Information regarding a project to eliminate the invasive air potato vine on Carpenter’s Creek using a beetle will be available. (Putting nature to work)
Updates on the RESTORE funding for Carpenter’s Creek and Bayou Texar will be provided. Further dates for Carpenter’s Creek clean up events with the Emerald Coastkeeper, Inc. will be announced by Laurie Murphy, the Executive Director.
